Pirmā Latvijas un Āfrikas attīstības sadarbības projekta “She Rebuilds the World” trešā sezona rit pilnā sparā – notiek apmācības sieviešu līderībā un uzņēmējdarbības prasmēs, esam apkopojuši projekta biznesa programmas dalībnieču atsauksmes un ieguvumus. Redzam arī reālus rezultātus uz vietas, Āfrikas valstīs, kur, projekta iedvesmotas, sievietes stiprina savas kopienas. Šosezon projekts aptver trīs valstis – Namībiju, Ruandu, Etiopiju. Iepriekšējās divās sezonās – arī Zambiju un Zimbabvi.

Mums ir īpašs prieks, ka projekts “She Rebuilds the World” ir ilgtspējīgs, laidis spēcīgas saknes un kupli zaro – tikko kā Lusakā, Zambijas galvaspilsētā ir reģistrēta mūsu projekta nosacītā “filiāle”, nacionālā nevalstiskā organizācija, kuru dibinājušas mūsu projekta Zambijas absolventes, tādējādi turpinot mūsu iesākto darbu uz vietas.

Projekta nozīmību uzsver vienas no “She Rebuilds the World” partnerorganizācijām, “Business Financial Solutions” pārstāve, stratēģiskās uzņēmējdarbības analītiķe Railija Mozesa (Raili Moses): “Šis projekts mums ir nozīmīgs, jo jebkuras valsts ekonomikai ir būtiski atbalstīt un stiprināt vairāk mazo un vidējo uzņēmumu.” Viņa arī uzsver ilgtspējas nozīmīgumu – cik svarīgi ir, ka apmācītie cilvēki paliek uz vietas, stiprinot savas kopienas, un daļa no tiem jau tālāk apmāca citus. Par milzīgo un labo darbu, ko darām Namībijā, īpaši reģionu attīstībai, personīgi projekta virsvadītājai Ievai Jākobsonei pateicību nule kā izteikusi Namībijas Investīciju un attīstības veicināšanas padomes (“Namibia Investment and Promotion Development Board”) vadība. Šī institūcija ir tiešā Namībijas valsts prezidentes pakļautībā. Projekta idejas sasaucas ar turpmāko trīs gadu prioritātēm, kurās ietverts arī atbalsts sievietēm uzņēmējām, un NIPDB ir gatava palīdzēt rast finanšu partnerus, lai projekts Namībijā turpinātos.

Kaut arī  Zimbabve, tāpat kā Zambija, šogad nav projektā, sievietes nevēlas, ka labās idejas un aizsāktie darbi apsīkst – vairāki sieviešu uzņēmēju klubi ir izteikuši vēlmi būt par #esiLV partneriem, bet galvaspilsētā Hararē pat ir SRW vēstneses, kas sadarbībā ar Sieviešu lietu, kopienu, mazo un vidējo uzņēmumu attīstības ministriju veido sieviešu uzņēmēju programmas, izmantojot mūsu nodotās zināšanas un apmācību metodoloģiju.
Par SRW projekta attīstīšanu ir augusi interese Etiopijā un Ruandā, un šobrīd ir interese arī Botsvānā un Kenijā.

Šobrīd projekta ietvaros rit trīs mēnešu ilgās apmācības tiešsaistē profesora Maika Velsa (Riga Business School) vadībā, kurās piedalās 112 atlasi izturējušās jaunās un topošās uzņēmējas. Tas ir turpinājums oktobrī notikušajām uzņēmējdarbības nometnēm.

Jāpiebilst, ka pērnā gada treneres no Zambijas un Zimbabves ļoti vēlējās brīvprātīgā kārtā turpināt sadarboties ar #esiLV un piedalīsies jauno RBS “Business Development Lab” kursa dalībnieču mentorēšanā, tādējādi veidojot Panāfrikas sadarbības loku. 
Janvārī tālsaistē uzsākām arī tiešsaistes programmu “Sieviešu iespējošana un līderība”, ko vada projekta virsvadītāja, #esiLV valdes locekle Ieva Jākobsone un personāla vadības profesionāle, biznesa trenere Zanda Šmate.

Nule kā veiktā dalībnieču aptauja (sk. diagrammu) ilustrē projekta “She Rebuilds the World” biznesa attīstības sadaļas ietekmi uz uzņēmējdarbības attīstību Āfrikas valstīs. Biznesa attīstības sadaļā ietilpst četras programmas: uzņēmējdarbības, “Train the Trainer” un mentoringa, digitālās pratības un finanšu pratības.

57% procenti respondenšu ir paplašinājušas esošo biznesu (sk. 4. un 6. pozīciju summu), 31,4% respondenšu ir izstrādājušas jaunus produktus un pakalpojumus – tas liecina par inovācijām un izaugsmi, un rentabilitāti. Liels respondenšu skaits (39,9%) norādījis, ka apsver iespēju atvērt jaunu uzņēmumu, izceļot lielu interesi par uzņēmējdarbību. 19% no respondentēm jau ir atvērušas savus uzņēmumus, bet 21,3% ir juridiski reģistrējušas uzņēmumu, kas nozīmē, ka SRW ir palīdzējis uzņēmumiem pāriet no neformālās uz formālo ekonomiku Āfrikas valstīs, kurās projekts bijis (Zambija, Zimbabve) vai ir (Namībija, Ruanda, Etiopija) klātesošs29,5% aptaujāto attīsta sadarbību un strādā pie sadarbības projektiem ar sievietēm uzņēmējām citās Āfrikas valstīs, kurās SRW ir uzsācis savu darbību. Tas pierāda Panāfrikas projekta nozīmi, kas savieno biznesa dāmas visā Āfrikas kontinentālajā brīvās tirdzniecības zonā. Šīs atziņas liecina, ka SRW programmām ir nozīmīga loma uzņēmējdarbības attīstības veicināšanā, jo īpaši rosinot jaunas idejas un uzņēmējdarbības paplašināšanas iniciatīvas Āfrikas valstīs, kurās tā veic savu darbību.

“She Rebuilds the World” (“Viņa pārveido pasauli”) ir Latvijas Republikas Ārlietu ministrijas atbalstīts un finansēts pirmais Latvijas un Āfrikas valstu attīstības sadarbības projekts, ko jau trešo sezonu kopā ar sadarbības partneriem realizē kustība #esiLV. The project “She Rebuilds the World” proves its sustainability and lasting results

The third season of the first Latvian-African development cooperation project “She Rebuilds the World” is in full swing – on-line workshops of women’s leadership and entrepreneurship skills is underway, we have collected feedback and benefits from the project’s business program participants. We are also seeing real results in countries, where, inspired by the project, women are strengthening their communities. This season, the project covers three countries – Namibia, Rwanda, Ethiopia. In the previous two seasons – also Zambia and Zimbabwe.

We are particularly pleased that the project “She Rebuilds the World” is sustainable, has put down strong roots and is branching out profusely – a conditional “branch” of our project has just been registered in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, a national non-governmental organization founded by our project’s Zambian graduates, thus continuing the work we have started on the ground.

The importance of the project is emphasized by Raili Moses, a strategic business analyst from Business Financial Solutions, one of the partner organizations of “She Rebuilds the World”, who said: “This project is important for us because it is essential for the economy of any country to support and strengthen more small and medium-sized enterprises.” She also emphasizes the importance of sustainability – how important it is that the trained people stay in place, strengthening their communities, and some of them are already training others. The leadership of the Namibia Investment and Promotion Development Board has personally expressed its gratitude to the project manager Ieva Jākobsone for the enormous and good work we are doing in Namibia, especially for regional development. This institution is directly subordinate to the President of Namibia. The project ideas resonate with the priorities of the next three years, which also include support for women entrepreneurs, and NIPDB is ready to help find financial partners so that the project in Namibia can continue.

Although Zimbabwe, like Zambia, is not part of the project this year, women do not want good ideas and work to stop – several women’s business clubs have expressed their desire to be #esiLV partners, and in the capital Harare there are even SRW ambassadors who, in cooperation with the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Communities, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, are creating programs for women entrepreneurs, using the knowledge and training methodology we have transferred.
Interest in developing the SRW project has grown in Ethiopia and Rwanda, and there is currently interest in Botswana and Kenya as well.

Currently, the project is running a three-month online training course led by Professor Mike Wells (Riga Business School), in which 112 young and aspiring entrepreneurs who have passed the selection are participating. This is a continuation of the entrepreneurship camps held in October.
It should be noted that last year’s trainers from Zambia and Zimbabwe were very keen to continue working with #esiLV on a voluntary basis and will participate in mentoring new RBS “Business Development Lab” course participants, thus creating a Pan-African circle of cooperation.
In January, we also launched the online program “Women’s Empowerment and Leadership” remotely, led by the project manager, #esiLV board member Ieva Jākobsone, and HR professional, business trainer Zanda Šmate.

The survey of participants (see diagram) illustrates the impact of the business development section of the “She Rebuilds the World” project on business development in African countries. The business development section includes four programs: entrepreneurship, “Train the Trainer” and mentoring, digital literacy, and financial literacy.

57% of respondents have expanded their existing business (see the sum of items 4 and 6), 31.4% of respondents have developed new products and services – this indicates innovation and growth, and profitability. A large number of respondents (39.9%) indicated that they are considering opening a new business, highlighting a strong interest in entrepreneurship.
19% of respondents have already started their own businesses, while 21.3% have legally registered a business, meaning that SRW has helped businesses move from the informal to the formal economy in the African countries where the project has been (Zambia, Zimbabwe) or is (Namibia, Rwanda, Ethiopia) present. 29.5% of respondents are developing partnerships and working on collaborative projects with women entrepreneurs in other African countries where SRW has launched its operations. This demonstrates the importance of the Pan-African project, which connects businesswomen across the African Continental Free Trade Area. These findings demonstrate that SRW programs play a significant role in promoting entrepreneurship, especially by stimulating new ideas and business expansion initiatives in the African countries where it operates.
In total, over the course of the project, more than 1,000 girls have participated in our programs and approximately 600 have graduated from SRW certified programs.

About the project
“She Rebuilds the World” is the first development cooperation project between Latvia and African countries, supported and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, which is now in its third season, implemented by the #esiLV movement together with cooperation partners.
As part of the project, Latvian knowledge and experience are exported – Latvian and diaspora experts train entrepreneurial women from African countries in business skills, women’s leadership and legal issues, so that they can build their own businesses and social projects in their communities, and later further train other women in the regions of the countries. Latvian specialists also advise business organizations, academic circles and government representatives on various issues relevant to the respective country, for example, on digital transformation.
