Biedrība #esiLV bija viena no šī foruma līdzorganizatoriem.

“Women’s leadership is about building together.”
On 13 October 2026, the “Women in Tech Leadership Forum” brought together women leaders, policymakers, technology experts and representatives of international organizations in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to discuss the technologies, partnerships and leadership shaping our digital future.
esiLV, as a partner of “Women in Tech® Uzbekistan” in organizing the Forum, was particularly honoured by the keynote address delivered by H.E. Girts Jaunzems, Ambassador of Latvia to Uzbekistan, on “Building the Future Together: Uzbekistan and Latvia”.
The Ambassador highlighted the growing cooperation between Latvia and Uzbekistan in digital transformation and the importance of ensuring that women are not only participating in the technology sector, but also shaping its direction and leading its institutions.
“It is not enough for women to enter the technology sector. They must also have the opportunity to lead it.”
An important part of the Ambassador’s address focused on the European Commission’s D4D initiative “Women in Public ICT Leadership”, implemented by esiLV in Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Tanzania under the guidance of the Centrālā finanšu un līgumu aģentūra. (https://www.cfla.gov.lv/en/article/wlict-projects-first-year-completed-latvian-experts-strengthen-womens-leadership-ict-sector-ukraine-uzbekistan-and-tanzania)
The Ambassador highlighted the work of esiLV and its international team of experts in advancing two key priorities under the project:
Strengthening women’s leadership in digital governance and policymaking. Through research, stakeholder consultations and policy dialogue, esiLV team examines the opportunities and barriers women face in reaching leadership positions in public ICT institutions. The work also addresses gender bias, accountability and responsible AI governance.
Building a safer and more inclusive digital environment. The project addresses technology-facilitated gender-based violence, including online harassment, threats and abuse that can prevent women from participating fully in public and professional life. Activities include assessing cyberviolence in Uzbekistan, reviewing existing legal and policy frameworks, and facilitating knowledge exchange and training between Uzbek and European policymakers, regulators and experts.
Together, these efforts connect research, policy and international cooperation to create lasting institutional change, ensuring that more women can lead digital transformation and contribute to shaping a safer, more inclusive technological future.
A particularly important message was that advancing women’s leadership requires collaboration between men and women, institutions and countries.
“Women’s leadership is not a competition with men. It is not about replacing anyone. It is about building together.”
For esiLV, the Forum represents more than an opportunity for dialogue. It is a platform for connecting international expertise with local knowledge, strengthening partnerships and translating shared ambitions into concrete action.
Our sincere thank you to “Women in Tech® Uzbekistan”, particularly Anna Ambrozevich and Kristina Kaminska, HE.E. Ambassador Ģirts Jaunzems, Ieva Jākobsone, Tatjana Titareva, Natalie Cernecka, Vineta Hibsmane and all partners who contributed to making this Forum possible.
As the Ambassador reminded us:
“Technology itself will not decide whether the future is fair. People will.”
We look forward to continuing this cooperation and contributing to a more inclusive, safe and equitable digital future for all.
