“She Rebuilds the World – Ukraine” projekts turpinās. Tikko noslēgusies projekta apakšprogramma “Sieviešu līderība un vadības prasmes”, kurā divdesmit piecas Ukrainas uzņēmējas attālināti ne tikai mācījās jaunas zināšanas, bet arī guva atbalstu un vairāk pārliecības par saviem spēkiem. Jau pavisam drīz sāksies programma “Biznesa metodoloģija”.

2025. gadā sievietes radīja vairāk nekā 60% no visiem jaundibinātajiem uzņēmumiem Ukrainā, atklājot vairāk nekā 153 000 jaunu biznesu. Pašlaik uzņēmējdarbībā aktīvi darbojas vairāk nekā 1,1 miljons sieviešu, un viņu dalība ir ievērojami augusi kopš pilna mēroga iebrukuma sākuma – un tā, protams, nav nejaušība. Gan kara laikā, gan pēc tam tieši sievietēm nākas uzņemties galveno lomu daudzās jomās. Tā tas ir arī šobrīd Ukrainā. Un, nenoliedzami, pēc kara beigām Ukrainā viena no prioritātēm būs ekonomikas atjaunošana.
Šī kara laikā Ukrainas sievietes ir spērušas soli uz priekšu – nevis simboliski, bet strukturāli –, lai uzturētu valsts ekonomisko pamatu. Daudzās nozarēs viņas ir kļuvušas par pēctecības un atveseļošanās mugurkaulu. Runāt par Ukrainas sievietēm šodien nozīmē runāt par visas ekonomikas un sabiedrības transformāciju.
Viena no sieviešu līderībai veltītās apakšprogrammas vadītājām bija arī projekta “She Rebuilds the World” galvenā vadītāja Ieva Jākobsone, kurai pašai šis temats jau gadiem ir īpaši tuvs un būtisks, viņa daudz par to uzstājusies arī starptautiskās konferencēs un citos pasākumos, kā arī vadījusi kursus un darbnīcas par šo tēmu jau iepriekšējās SRW sezonās: “Statistika, lai cik jaudīga tā būtu, izstāsta tikai daļu no stāsta. Pēdējos mēnešus cieši sadarbojoties ar Ukrainas uzņēmējām un trenerēm mūsu līderības programmā, esmu sapratusi, ka dzīvesspēks šeit nav metafora. Tā ir ikdienas disciplīna! Šīs sievietes vada uzņēmumus gaisa trauksmes sirēnu pavadībā. Viņas vada komandas energoapgādes traucējumu un ekonomiskās lejupslīdes apstākļos. Viņas uztur ģimenes, kopienas un daudzos (ja ne lielākajā daļā) gadījumu – pašu kara emocionālo smagumu. Un tomēr – viņas izvēlas izaugsmi.”
Pētījumi rāda, ka 68% Ukrainas sieviešu ir apsvērušas iespēju sākt vai paplašināt biznesu pat konflikta vidū. Tas liecina ne tikai par nepieciešamību, bet arī par vīziju – par neatlaidīgu vēlmi saglabāt rīcībspēju apstākļos, kas radīti, lai to ierobežotu.

Otra apakšprogrammas vadītāja bija cilvēkresursu vadības speciāliste, Ph.D. cand. (Amsterdamas Brīvā universitāte) Zanda Šmate. Projektā “She Rebuilds the World”  (tobrīd saistībā ar Namībiju) viņa iesaistījās pērn:  “Uzzināju vairāk par projektu, iepazinos ar Ievu, ar projekta pērnās sezonas absolventēm, klausījos viņu biznesa redzējumu. Man radās vairākas idejas, ar kurām padalījos, balstoties uz savu divdesmit gadu profesionālo pieredzi, veidojot un vadot apmācības un dažādas attīstības programmas. Priecājos par iespēju dot ieguldījumu šajā programmā, jo ticu, ka sievietēm vienai otru ir jāatbalsta.”

Ieva Jākobsone bilst par kādu dualitāti, ko turpina novērot un cenšas izprast saistībā ar kursu dalībniecēm:  “Ass prāts – stratēģisks, pielāgoties spējīgs un neatlaidīgi vērsts nākotnē. Un maiga sirds, kas spēj sniegt rūpes, empātiju un cilvēcisku saikni apstākļos, kuros būtu attaisnojama noslēgšanās. Diskusijās par līderību mēs bieži šīs īpašības nošķiram. Ukrainā tās pastāv līdzās. Ja “She Rebuilds the World” 4. sezona man līdz šim ir kaut ko iemācījusi, tad tas ir šis: mēs šeit neesam tikai tādēļ, lai atbalstītu Ukrainas sievietes. Mēs esam šeit, lai no viņām mācītos – kā dzīvesspēks kļūst par struktūru, kā veiklība kļūst par izdzīvošanu un kā līderība savā dziļākajā būtībā nav kontrole, bet gan izturība ar cieņu un skaistumu. Un, iespējams, esot lieciniekiem tam visam, mēs gūstam atgādinājumu, ka pasaules atjaunošana nav abstrakta ambīcija. Tas jau notiek – klusi, drosmīgi caur Ukrainas sieviešu rokām, prātiem un sirdīm.”

Rudenī vairāk nekā 200 Ukrainas uzņēmējām bija iespēja tiešsaistē apgūt dizaina domāšanas kursu. Paralēli tiešsaistes mācībām Dizaina domāšanas metodoloģijas treneres Viktorijas Tihomirovas vadībā uzņēmējas, kuras iekļautas īpašajā SRW “Train the Trainer” programmā, apgūtās zināšanas izmantoja praktiski, apmācot citas sievietes jau Ukrainas reģionos klātienē (Kijivā, Ļvivā, Dņipro, Čerņivcos, Ivano-Frankivskā, Brovaros un Oleksandrijā).
8. aprīlī noslēdzās digitālās pratības kurss, kur dalībnieces no Ukrainas tiešsaistē “Riga TechGirl” projektu vadītājas Oksanas Tatarinovas vadībā gūst zināšanas tādās tēmās kā kiberdrošība, zīmološana, tiešsaistes mārketings, mākslīgā intelekta rīki u. tml. Pirms tam Ukrainas uzņēmējas padziļināja zināšanas finanšu pratībā.

Jaunā sezona sadarbībā ar jaunu valsti lielā virsprojekta “She Rebuilds the World” ietvaros sākās pērn augustā. Tad Latvijā, Valmieras reģionā viesojās Ukrainas sieviešu uzņēmēju grupa, kura klātienē iepazinās  ar Valmieras novada pašvaldības darbu, kā arī ar pilsētas un novada uzņēmēju pieredzi. Ukraiņu uzņēmējas guva jaunas zināšanas par Eiropas Savienības tirgus specifiku, ilgtspējīgu uzņēmējdarbību un citām jomām, kas palīdzēs Ukrainas atjaunotnei pēc kara beigām.
Šī SRW sezona arī noslēgsies augustā – tad Latvijā atkal klātienē viesosies Ukrainas delegācija, šoreiz tās būs labākās deviņu mēnešu “Train the Trainer” programmas dalībnieces, kurām būs iespēja piedalīties intensīvās un praktiskās klātienes darbnīcās.

Par projektu

Šī ir projekta “She Rebuilds the World” 4. sezona. Iepriekšējo trīs sezonu laikā Latvijas ekspertu vadībā uzņēmējdarbībā, vadībā, finanšu un digitālajā pratībā u. c. tika apmācītas gandrīz 1000 sievietes Namībijā, Zambijā, Zimbabvē, Etiopijā un Ruandā un izveidota sadarbība visaugstākajā līmenī – ar valdības, uzņēmēju, akadēmiskajām organizācijām.
Šosezon projektam izveidots Ukrainas atzars – “Treneru kapacitātes celšanas programma sieviešu ekonomiskajai iespējošanai caur uzņēmējdarbību un ES labo prakšu apmaiņa “Viņa pārveido pasauli” (“She Rebuilds the World”, 4. sezona)”
Projektu īsteno: biedrība “Ekonomiskā Sadarbība un Investīcijas Latvijai” jeb globālā kustība #esiLV ar sadarbības partneriem: “Riga TechGirls”, Valmieras novada pašvaldību, Valmieras attīstības aģentūru, U&WE Hub (Centre for CSR Development) – Ukrainas puse.
Projektā tiek eksportētas Latvijas zināšanas un pieredze un veidots Latvijas kā zināšanu valsts tēls. Šogad fokusā ir Ukrainas uzņēmēju apmācība un pieredzes apmaiņa.

A Sharp Mind and a Gentle Heart. The Women’s Leadership Sub-program for Ukrainian Entrepreneurs Has Concluded

The “She Rebuilds the World – Ukraine” project continues. The sub-program “Women’s Leadership” has just concluded, during which twenty-five Ukrainian entrepreneurs not only acquired new knowledge remotely but also received support and gained more confidence in their own strengths. The “Business Methodology” program will begin very soon.

In 2025, women created more than 60% of all newly established enterprises in Ukraine, opening more than 153,000 new businesses. Currently, more than 1.1 million women are actively engaged in entrepreneurship, and their participation has grown significantly since the start of the full-scale invasion – and this, of course, is no coincidence. Both during the war and after it, it is precisely women who have to assume the leading role in many fields. This is also the case in Ukraine today. And, undeniably, after the end of the war, one of the priorities in Ukraine will be economic recovery. During this war, Ukrainian women have stepped forward – not symbolically, but structurally – to maintain the economic foundation of the country. In many sectors, they have become the backbone of continuity and recovery. To talk about Ukrainian women today means to talk about the transformation of the entire economy and society.

One of the leaders of the sub-program dedicated to women’s leadership was also the main leader of the “She Rebuilds the World” project, Ieva Jākobsone, for whom this topic itself has been particularly close and essential for years; she has spoken extensively about it at international conferences and other events, as well as led courses and workshops on this topic in previous SRW seasons: “Statistics, no matter how powerful they are, tell only part of the story. Having cooperated closely with Ukrainian entrepreneurs and trainers in our leadership program over the past months, I have realized that resilience here is not a metaphor. It is a daily discipline! These women run businesses to the accompaniment of air raid sirens. They lead teams under conditions of power supply disruptions and economic downturn. They support families, communities, and in many (if not most) cases – the emotional burden of the war itself. And yet – they choose growth.”

Research shows that 68% of Ukrainian women have considered starting or expanding a business even in the midst of conflict. This testifies not only to necessity but also to a vision – to a persistent desire to maintain agency in conditions created to restrict it. The second leader of the sub-program was human resource management specialist, Ph.D. cand. (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) Zanda Šmate. She joined the “She Rebuilds the World” project last year (at that time in connection with Namibia): “I learned more about the project, met Ieva, met the alumnae of last year’s season of the project, and listened to their business vision. I came up with several ideas, which I shared based on my twenty years of professional experience in creating and leading training and various development programs. I am delighted with the opportunity to contribute to this program, because I believe that women must support one another.”

Ieva Jākobsone: “There is a duality that I continue to observe and, perhaps, am still trying to fully understand and articulate: a sharp mind – strategic, adaptable, and persistently focused on the future. And a gentle heart capable of providing care, empathy, and human connection in conditions where closing off would be justifiable. In discussions about leadership, we often separate these qualities. In Ukraine, they coexist. If Season 4 of ‘She Rebuilds the World’ has taught me anything so far, it is this: we are not just here to support Ukrainian women. We are here to learn from them – how resilience becomes a structure, how agility becomes survival, and how leadership in its deepest essence is not control, but endurance with dignity and beauty. And perhaps, by witnessing all this, we receive a reminder that rebuilding the world is not an abstract ambition. It is already happening – quietly, courageously through the hands, minds, and hearts of Ukrainian women.”

In the autumn, more than 200 Ukrainian entrepreneurs had the opportunity to complete a design thinking course online. In parallel with the online studies, under the leadership of Design Thinking Methodology trainer Viktorija Tihomirova, the entrepreneurs included in the special SRW “Train the Trainer” program applied the acquired knowledge practically by training other women in person within the regions of Ukraine (in Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Brovary, and Oleksandriia). On April 8, the digital literacy course concluded, where participants from Ukraine gain knowledge online under the leadership of “Riga TechGirls” project manager Oksana Tatarinova on topics such as cybersecurity, branding, online marketing, artificial intelligence tools, etc. Prior to that, the Ukrainian entrepreneurs deepened their knowledge in financial literacy.

The new season in cooperation with a new country within the framework of the grand overarching project “She Rebuilds the World” began last August. At that time, a group of Ukrainian women entrepreneurs visited Latvia, the Valmiera region, and became acquainted in person with the work of the Valmiera Municipality, as well as with the experience of entrepreneurs from the city and the region. The Ukrainian entrepreneurs gained new knowledge about the specificities of the European Union market, sustainable entrepreneurship, and other areas that will aid the recovery of Ukraine after the end of the war.

This SRW season will also conclude in August – at that time, a Ukrainian delegation will visit Latvia in person again; this time it will consist of the best participants of the nine-month “Train the Trainer” program, who will have the opportunity to participate in intensive and practical in-person workshops.

About the project
This is the 4th season of the “She Rebuilds the World” project. During the previous three seasons, under the guidance of Latvian experts, nearly 1000 women were trained in entrepreneurship, management, financial and digital literacy, etc., in Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, and Rwanda, and cooperation was established at the highest level – with government, business, and academic organizations. This season, a Ukrainian branch has been established for the project – “Capacity building program for trainers for women’s economic empowerment through entrepreneurship and EU good practice exchange ‘She Rebuilds the World’ (Season 4)”. The project is implemented by: the association “Economic Cooperation and Investment for Latvia” or the global movement #esiLV with cooperation partners: “Riga TechGirls”, Valmiera Municipality, Valmiera Development Agency, U&WE Hub (Centre for CSR Development) – the Ukrainian side. Within the project, Latvia’s knowledge and experience are exported, and Latvia’s image as a knowledge-based state is developed. This year, the focus is on the training and experience exchange of Ukrainian entrepreneurs. The project is implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.
